Process: Washed, soaked overnight, dried on raised beds
“Location is everything.” The old adage that applies to everything from real estate to tattoo placement also rings true for coffee cultivation. The people of southern Ethiopia have been farming coffee for a long time, developing a unique flavor profile while maintaining the citrus & floral accents and general liveliness of the nation’s well-known and universally beloved gift to the world. This particular cup from the Guji Oromo people is no exception. Wherever you are on the map, one sip will send you out of this world.
The Hassan brothers are peak performers in this region, operating both wet mills and managing coffee operations across Guji. These lots are made up of coffee from several hundred different farmers, most with only a couple hundred coffee trees or less. The people in this region are known as Guji Oromo, and coffee farming has been a core part of the culture in the highland areas for many years.
